MARCH, 2010

We are only about a month away from the Musky season in Wisconsin to

open south of highway 10. This is a very exciting time for all of us musky

fanatics. We are also getting very close to our annual banquet. I look

forward to seeing you there and working with you. The information on the

banquet is listed further in this newsletter. As a reminder if anyone has any

Meeting Minutes, BTL Chapter 20 03/18/10

President Steve Western called the meeting to order at 6:15pm

Matt Abraham gave the Secretary report for the previous month meeting.

Ted Scharl gave the Treasurers report and listed club funds.

Matt Abraham gave the friends of the lake report. Next meeting will be in June 2010.

Buoys will go in sometime in April again this year.

Kevin Rortvedt gave the Banquet report. Donations for our door prizes are all set.

Approx. 170 door prizes total. Packages are lining up. Deadline for the book was March

24th. Members will eat at 4pm. Steve gave thanks to all who are working on the banquet.

Doing an excellent job since Ellen stepped down.

Ed Mindock gave the SCCA report.

May 13th fundraising banquets @ Rangeline Inn. They are excited about it this year, with

many new prizes and raffles. Voted and passed motion on interest in the DNR making a

public access point on Spring Lake. Sheboygan Marsh has sold the last platform on the

marsh tower, will have grand opening brat fry on May 16th. April 17th awards banquet in

Howards Grove, spring hearing on April 12th in Sheboygan Falls.

Chuck Strysick gave a youth program and Turning Leaf report. Opened up a mentor

program with other kids in the county. Putting together a fishing program May 16th,

looking for volunteers. Turning leaf report, committee is coming together, applications

will be in Banquet programs.

Old Business was read from the previous month.

New Business. We put in a grant to Hugh C Becker Foundation. We received $2800 for

Youth Programs from it. CCMI Seminars on April 15th. Brought up pilot program for

Muskies magazine. Will be looking at a bi-monthly format to save money and produce a

better magazine. Ron Greschel gave out VHS info and was passed out to all members for

review. Kleeba Challenge on June 18th-21st on Holcombe Flowage. That is Father’s Day

Weekend.

BANQUET REMINDER

1-: Banquet set up night is Monday, April 19, 5:00 pm. at Rangeline Inn. The more that

come and help the quicker we can put this together. No supper is being provided that

night.

2- Banquet is Tuesday April 20, please let Mike Place know mikeplace@charter.net if

you will be eating early. We need as many club members as possible to eat early. We

need a head count for that.

3-If you have not yet sent in your banquet ticket order DO IT NOW and BRING A

FRIEND OR TWO!!!

4-Remember your canned goods for the food pantry.

5-If you have one or more home made baits to donate to the bucket raffle bring them

along Monday night.

Milwaukee Chapter of Muskies Inc. is having the 26th annual Pewaukee

Muskie Classic on Saturday May 8th. This is a total release tournament and Banquet. The

lakes that you would be able to fish include Pewaukee, Okauchee, and Oconomowoc

lakes. For more information on this tournament go to www.milwaukeemuskies.com. You

can print out the Pewaukee classic registration form by going to the “Tourneys” menu

and selecting “Pewaukee Classic”. Registration forms and fees must be in no later than

May 1st, 2010.

If you didn’t notice in the April Muskie magazine on the inside cover photo #2 is a

picture of member Lucy Roediger with her 48 inch musky caught while fishing Lake of

the Woods in July 2009. Also in the magazine is a picture of her husband John Roediger

who caught a 52.5” musky during the same trip. This picture is on the back inside cover.

Congratulations to you both.

If anyone is interested is getting the club logo embroidered on a shirt, cap, or any other

article of clothing Jeff Davis will be getting information together shortly. Please let me

know if you are interested. The more people we have and the more articles of clothing to

get embroidered the overall cost per garment will be less for everyone. I will have a cost

and other information to share with everyone for the next meeting.
